Our Story

Our Story

Titus and I met our freshman year at Union University in Jackson, TN and started dating a month later. The second semester of college, I told my mom I knew I was supposed to be a missionary overseas and work in an orphanage. I changed my major to ESL, so I could go to any country and serve. During senior year, Titus had a similar experience. He had grown up on the mission field in Fiji and the Philippines and was impacted by witnessing people’s lives changed through Christ’s love. We were married in 2009, believing that down the line a door would open for us to serve overseas.

Titus and I had been praying for God’s direction: where did He want us to go and when did He want us to leave?  December 2014 we applied to work at Esther's House in Malawi, Africa, an orphanage run by Pure Mission.  God  used James 1:27 to confirm our calling to Africa, “Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from  being polluted by the world."

We are honored to partner with Pure Mission on this journey (www.puremission.org). We are working with two other missionary families (one of which is my sister’s) to serve the children at Esther’s House.  Titus and I are currently serving as the Education and Agriculture directors at Esther's House.   Our team is also involved with widow care, discipleship, evangelism and church planting, as well as hosting short term teams and interns.

Looking back, it is amazing to see God’s hand in every step of this process.  We are excited to experience His plan for this next phase of our lives. We are so excited that God opened the door for us to work in Africa alongside my sister and her family. I remember 3 years ago when my sister and I were dreaming about how neat it would be if we were missionaries together and now God has made it a reality.
